CIYT Intermediate Junior 1
Margie Minkler began her practice of yoga 14 years ago while working as a criminal defense attorney. As a dedicated student of meditation, she was drawn to ashtanga and “power yoga” practices for their meditative dimensions and athletic movement. When she left the legal profession nearly 10 years ago, Margie pursued yoga at a deeper level. She discovered Yoga On Centre and the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar. Yoga became transformative. Who knew there could be such joy in the awakening of the body?
Margie is grateful to share Iyengar yoga with her students, incorporating its pursuit of technical skill, experiential learning and individual discovery of the transformative joy of the practice. She completed a year-long teacher training for yoga alliance certification (200hr) and has been trained through Judith Lassater’s Relax and Renew program. She also brings to her teaching, studies in psychology through professional training in Gestalt Therapy, and meditation through the teachings of Thomas Keating, Thich Nhat Hanh, Pema Chodron, and more recently, B.K.S. Iyengar.
“Margie is kindness itself. She respectfully and intelligently approaches each asana (yoga pose) with her student’s capabilities in mind. I always feel great after Friday morning with Margie!” -Current student
