About Annette
CIYT Introductory 1 & 2
Annette completed her Iyengar yoga teacher certification in September 2018. She is also a Yoga Alliance RYT 200hrs and has been teaching at the Oxford Athletic Club in Wexford since 2009. Her discovery of Iyengar yoga at Yoga on Center in 2013 awakened her desire to be a much more knowledgeable teacher. Sara Azarius and Christina Sible became her mentor teachers. She has also studied with Dean and Rebecca Lerner, Bekir Algan, Manouso Manos and with Abhijata Sridhar Iyengar at the 2019 Iyengar Yoga Convention in Dallas. Annette values the Iyengar system where continuous learning is encouraged and available.
Annette credits the practice of yoga and what she has learned about nutrition at IYIP for her graceful aging. She is most fulfilled when her students experience the health benefits of yoga and of drinking celery juice! Her students have shared stories of no longer needing cortisone shots in the backs or their knees, of reducing their medications and of relief from neck, shoulder, and back pain.
Annette holds a BS in Mathematics (Grove City College, 1975) and worked for PPG Industries in Computer Systems. She is also a Reiki master. She and her husband, Jack, live in Gibsonia, PA as empty nesters. They have three children: Danielle (husband – John), Chad (wife – Alexis), and Trevor, all who practice yoga. The newest little yogi, granddaughter, Madison Annette joined the family in November 2018.
