News from Our Studio

We are unable to safely open our studio doors at this time.

All classes continue online for the Winter Quarter.

The response to our October plea for students was overwhelming!  Thank you all so much! We surpassed our $5000 goal for that month. That is our break-even, pay-all-our-bills, number. Attendance dropped in November and December. So please sign up for classes. We need your ongoing support and participation. We so look forward to the day when we can be in the studio, together, in person!!!!

There are no live classes during the holidays. But pre-recorded classes abound. Live classes start back January 2, 2021.

We’ve uploaded many pre-recorded classes onto Namastream for your enjoyment during the holidays.  They live in the included content section of whichever product you have purchased. And you can peek into the products to see what classes are available before purchasing.  Logon to Namastream today, and crack open the many gifts that await!

follow the steps below to access online classes…

1. Load Google Chrome as your browser if you do not already use it. (Other browsers may work, but picture and sound quality suffer noticeably.)

2. Create a Namastream/IYIP User Account.  Just above is the link to the login page where you make your password. Alternately, access it via “Online Learning” on our website.

3. Browse our class options via the “Calendar”.

4. Purchase your product. Under “Products” click on the product you wish to purchase. On the next page you will find an orange “BUY” button (top right).   Enter your credit card information, and/or if you have a coupon code for discounted classes enter it (then click the “CHECK” button.) Then click “Register Product”.

4. Attend your class. Find your class from the “Calendar”.   (It automatically lands on the “Products” page where you can click on your previously paid for products to access previously recorded classes and documents (as “Included Contend”) or go to “Events” for the live classes.)
When the teacher has started the event (usually 15 minutes prior to the start time) the “Join Session” button will turn orange. Click it. You will see and hear the teacher. She will not hear or see you. Your chat messages will be public.
5. Logon early your first few times so Sara will have time to help if you should have questions.  If you have difficulties text Sara at (412) 401-2162, before the class start time.

IYIP Classes

 

Our classes have three focus areas:

Beginner to advanced yoga practice

Yoga therapy and rehabilitation

Stress management

IYIP classes run in 12-week sessions with a short break between quarters. Most classes build sequentially throughout the quarter, but you are welcome to begin or drop in at any point.

Class Descriptions

You can pre-register and pay for classes using IYIP’s Namastream Website or pay at class time with cash or check made out to Iyengar Yoga Institute of Pittsburgh (IYIP). No need to call ahead; just come a few minutes early for your first class to meet your teacher and fill out our New Student Registration form.
