Happy Memorial Day!: We have many pre-recorded classes uploaded to our Namastream site for your enjoyment today. No live classes, but many great options including two luxuriously long (30 mins!) savasanas!
All Classes are online until further notice.
Read below for instructions to access online classes.

Please Logon for classes 15 minutes before class time if you have not yet created your user logon.  If you have done this already, join the class 5 to 10 minutes before actual start time.

OR follow the steps below…

1. Namastream (our platform) is designed for use with the Google Chrome browser. Load Chrome in advance if you do not already use it. (Other browsers may work, but not as well. Picture and sound quality suffer noticeably.)

2. Create a Namastream/IYIP User Account.  Just below is the link to the login page where you make your password. Alternately you can find it via our website menu as “Online Learning”.

3. Under “Products” you will see “Day Pass – Live Classes Here!”.   Click it, “view product”,  and on the next page you will find an orange “BUY” button (top right below the image of students in vrksasana).   After April 8th you will enter your credit card information on the left. If you have a coupon code for discounted classes enter it on the right side of the page then click the “CHECK” button below to apply it. Then click “Register Product” on the left side of the page.
4. To find your class go into the “Day Pass – Live Classes Here!” product then click on “Events”. It will automatically land on the “content” page where you can access documents and previously recorded classes, but for streaming broadcast classes you want to go to “events”.  There you will then see a list of classes. Scroll down to the one you want to attend.  When the teacher has started the event (usually 30 minutes prior to the start time) the “Join Session” button will turn orange. Click it. You will see and hear the teacher. She will not hear or see you. Your chat messages will be public.
5. Be ready in front of your computer at least 10 minutes before the session begins. If you have difficulties text Sara at (412) 401-2162, ideally before the class start time.

The only class you join at the start of a quarter is a level 1 class. (You may begin the level one class anytime in the first three to four weeks of a quarter. After that you will have missed the previous weeks information upon which the subsequent classes rely.)  For all other classes you may begin anytime. Just drop in about 15 minutes early to get signed in! No need to call ahead. We have a large space and do not cap class attendance.

Our classes have three focus areas:

Beginner to advanced yoga practice

Yoga therapy and rehabilitation

Stress management

IYIP classes run in 12-week sessions with a short break between quarters. Most classes build sequentially throughout the quarter, but you are welcome to begin or drop in at any point.

Class Descriptions

You can pre-register and pay for classes using the MindBody mobile app or pay at class time with cash or check made out to Iyengar Yoga Institute of Pittsburgh (IYIP). No need to call ahead; just come a few minutes early for your first class to meet your teacher and fill out our New Student Registration form.
