News from Our Studio


The Winter 2019 classes will begin Wednesday, January 2nd. Click on the button below for the updated schedule. Sara will be teaching on Saturdays now as Paul has trimmed his teaching schedule. And Margie has added Wednesday morning classes.

Studio Cleaning Days: We need volunteers for cleaning and some light painting projects on Friday, December 28 and Saturday December 29th. We will be there from 10am through 6pm both days. Text Sara 412-401-2162 what time you will be dropping in. Or just show up. Taking home blankets and mats for washing will commence December 22. They can be returned on the 28th and 29th. Or you can pick them up on the 28th and 29th and return them on the first day of classes, Wednesday, January 2nd.

Class Break: We have a 10 day break from December 23 through January 1. No Classes during the break.

Margie teaches a sequence of postures aimed at discovering the “west” or the “hidden” back side of the body.

IYIP Classes


Our classes have three focus areas:

Beginner to advanced yoga practice

Yoga therapy and rehabilitation

Stress management

IYIP classes run in 12-week sessions with a short break between quarters. Most classes build sequentially throughout the quarter, but you are welcome to begin or drop in at any point.

Class Descriptions

You can pre-register and pay for classes using the MindBody mobile app or pay at class time with cash or check made out to Iyengar Yoga Institute of Pittsburgh (IYIP). No need to call ahead; just come a few minutes early for your first class to meet your teacher and fill out our New Student Registration form.
